Hastings Chrysler Center Can't Stop Laughing from a Crazy Used Car Test Drive

Are you familiar with the Pepsi MAX ad campaign? You know the one where they disguise athletes and send them in to different situations. As you probably have confirmed already, the idea of these ads are to show how looks can be deceiving. In a very recent example, NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon throws on some makeup and walks in to a used car dealership to test out a Camaro, and the results were quite amazing.


We at Hastings Chrysler Center, can't lie and say that there wasn't any editing done, but they got the point across. We know if this happened to any of our sales team, we'd probably have the same shocked reaction as the guy in the video did.


Still curious what happened? Well, Gordon acts like he's never driven a sports car before, and the sales team member talks him into taking a test drive. A few seconds go by before Gordon starts flooring the vehicle, and performs a few expert driver moves like a donut and handbrake turn with precision. As you can imagine this throws the salesman off all together! We can't imagine how worried he could have been sitting in the passenger seat. He even starts laying out the legal ramifications to the in-disguise Gordon, and is all worked up until the very end, when it's revealed he was part of a big set-up.


Even though we had a good laugh, we really hope this never happens to us. Let's just reiterate the "professional driver, closed course" disclaimer on the bottom of the ad. But, if you are looking to try out a used car for your next ride, stop in and see us at Hastings Chrysler Center.
